Thanks June and thanks for reading! You’re right that definitely wasn’t fair of me to generalize all of Congress. In terms of more internships, I need to start getting paid but I definitely will be looking for congressional jobs after May.

Hi, Lisa,

Excellent blog, but be very wary of generalizations like
“the U.S. Congress (and the powerful fossil fuel industry that controls it).” There are 535 members of Congress, and while your statement is true of some, it is clearly inaccurate when applied to all.

To be truly effective, you have to be accurate and fair. I recommend a congressional internship or summer job to complement your executive internship — preferably one each on the Senate and House sides (they’re very different).
